IF I HAD A MILLION DOLLARS BY RON WHITE
I saw a movie a few years ago that had a very funny scene. One of the characters asked the other what he would do if he had a million dollars. He replied, “Nothing.... If I had a million dollars, I would just relax all day long and enjoy myself.” Another guy chimed in and seriously stated, “Hey, you don’t need a million dollars to do that... just look at my cousin... he is flat broke and he doesn’t do a thing but sit there all day long.”
I think I laughed about that for an hour and it just caused me to smile again.
Although the line in the movie was a joke, it illustrates a truth of life. Whatever it is that you wish to do, do it! Why wait? Seriously, why put off your dreams until tomorrow or until you get all your ducks in a row. Guess what? The ducks of life sometimes have a mind of their own and tend to wander a lot. You may never get all your ducks in a row.
I have been a professional speaker since I was 20 years old. When I was 27, I was speaking with a woman and she said, “I am 59 years old and by the time I am 65 I would like to have my master’s degree and be working as a professional speaker.” I looked at her perplexed as I inquired, “Why in the world are you going to wait until you are 65 and have a degree? I am 27 years old with no degree and I am speaking tomorrow!” You could tell that my statement shattered her reality and she had no response.
This woman was waiting to pursue her dream until everything was just perfect. Until she had everything that she thought she needed to ensure maximum success, when in reality the greatest thing that she could have done is simply move in the direction of what she desires.
The greatest resistor of human dreams is the “If I had a million dollars” attitude. Individuals dream that if they had a million dollars, they could pursue their vision. No they wouldn’t! If you don’t pursue your vision when you are broke, when you grasp a million, you will create another reason why it isn’t possible. Or if you are one of the few who would actually live their dreams if you had a million dollars, what is the probability that you are going to save a million dollars?
Ever heard this train of thought?
Once I get out of high school I am going to see the world and travel…
Once I finish college I am going to see the world and travel…
Once I get married I am going to travel with my spouse…
After our kids are older we are going to see the world and travel…
When our kids get out of high school we are going to see the world and travel…
As soon as we retire we are going to see the world and travel…
Now, I am out of school, the kids are gone and I am retired; if I was younger and my health was better I would see the world and travel…
Don’t wait…
Many questions of life are complicated and unclear, yet the question of if you should pursue your dream or wait until you have a million dollars is as clear as the waters of Fiji. You are not promised tomorrow. You are not promised a million dollars. Pursue your dream today and inch closer or it will remain equally as distant as the pages of your life near the final chapter.
—Ron White

ARE YOU BEAUTIFUL ENOUGH????
Are you beautiful??? Do men drool over you when you walk down the street?
Have you ever stopped to consider whether you’d be considered beautiful when you move from your home country…. or continent into another???
Often, I find myself wondering whether my 5’7 foot frame with my 32 inches bust, 28 inches waist and my very famous 42 inches, child bearing hips and shea butter enhanced ebony black skin,(which is considered totally sexy in Ghana, my motherland) will be considered equally sexy when I move to say, India????
Or whether my kinky curly hair and hairy legs will still be considered a turn on when I move to some Scandinavian country where the women have long flowing hair and endure weekly torture of waxing their legs just to appear well groomed.
Or whether the gap in between my two front teeth which is said to be a gift from God will still be praised as much when I move to say, America????
I recently asked a few of my male friends (boys boys) what they like about their Ghanaian ladies and oh my days, the answers cracked me up. So apparently, the average black man loves his woman with a good behind…To quote one of my guys, an average black man loves his woman with a 3d behind. The black man and boobs??? Honestly, no one can convince me that the black man isn’t a boobs addict. I rest my case
On the other hand, an average white man loves his woman with big boobs (think a 36DD bra size) and super long legs and I guess a non existent booty.. Long legs??? Who cares about legs when there’s booty??? (That is a bias statement… I know)
Now, when we move to Asia, an average Indian man loves his woman with fair skin(fair skin???? What about the black Indians??) and I guess long flowing hair and I guess she must be able to move her hips to some good music…
Beauty is geographical…. It differs from one tribe to another, one country to another and one continent to another…
There is no one set standard of beauty. I guess God made it that way so that unless you learn to look at yourself from the inside out, you’d never be convinced of your beauty. Or unless you learn to wear your confidence on your sleeve and a screw you and your this is not beautiful attitude, you’d always doubt the looks God gave you.
I believe the only standard of beauty we should concern ourselves with, is the one God gave us at birth. So whether you are tall, short, dark, hairy, hairless….. whatever….. real beauty should be your ability to look into the mirror with no make up on, smile at your image and say, God bless the parents that made me. Heck, I am damn fly just the way I am.

Cheers to my 150th blog post. I wanted to write something smart and witty for this milestone and I hope I did.... I dedicate this to my awesome followers who make me smile, laugh, get into my agony aunt mode and simply love my blog... you are awesome!
WHAT I WISH EVERY MAN KNEW BUT I WAS GLAD THEY DIDN'T TILL I FOOLISHLY WROTE THIS NOTE
I really hate notes like 10 things every
women wish her man knew or 10
things to make a woman smile or... . you
get the drift right?
For starters, we women are not wired
the same. what girl A does to let you
know she loves you, girl B, doesn't
have to do the same thing to mean the
same thing. so maybe number one on
those 10 things should be
WOMEN ARE NOT THE SAME SO THE
REST OF THIS LIST IS GOING TO
CONTAIN TOTAL JUNK!! READ ON IF
YOU REALLY MUST BUT TRUST ME, YOU
WON'T FIND ANY USEFUL
INFORMATION ON HOW TO DEAL
WITH YOUR WOMAN
We women really don't understand
each other so it's cool if YOU men
really don't understand us, just don't
pretend you do!
We know when you are lying just to
hang out with the boys and when a lie
has to be taken seriously, we just
decide how TO react when.
Yes, we believe all men are CHEATS!
But we still like to believe you are
different or at least smart enough not
to get Caught.
We nag cos you make us nag not cos
we enjoy it. Do you think we really
enjoy hearing our own voices? duh?
Our girlfriends are on our sides, not
yours. So complaining to them about
us is like talking to a brick wall
Not all of us are emotional blackmailers
and if you've not figured that one out
already then you must be really slow!
No matter how fly our ex was, you
REALLY are better cos you see, unlike
men, we always try to date men who
are better than our exes
No matter what you try to tell us, we
know that the way to a man's heart is
still through the stomach not anywhere
else.
A woman may forgive you for cheating
but TRUST her never to forget. To
spare yourself some future references
just don't get Caught cheating
We chat with you cos we are trying to
figure out how your mind works and
when we ask whether we are flyer than
your ex, we are NOT looking for an ego
booster, just a sign of loyalty
We know we are beautiful so don't
think you did us any favour by telling
us what we already know.
When we tell our problems, we are
NOT trying to tell you to find a solution.
We just want you to listen..
We love it when you go out of your
way to do something for us!!
Sometimes, we say the dreaded I LOVE
YOU cos that's what we think u want to
hear.
We promise to understand soccer the
day you understand that PMS is not a
disease!
Women love the thrill of the chase too.
Truth is, often, we fall out of love
before we are smart enough to walk
out.
Sometimes, we cry just to get you
confused.
Remember, we are NOT wired the
same and deep down, we know you
men are NOT the same just strangely
similar.
Believe it or not, when we move on, we
stop caring about you so stop thinking
you matter. yes, we'd talk to you and
laugh with you but it don't mean we
want you back, it just means you are
NOT worth our hatred ------xoxo, Her Prettyness

IF STEVE JOBS WAS A GHANAIAN.....
So I'm just a little embarrassed to be posting this note considering the fact that I found out who Steve Jobs was, the very day he died. (Pardon my ignorance). However, after spending hours poring over articles and watching videaos, I fell in love.... Steve Jobs was a pure genius...
I can't help but wonder, would my dear Mr Jobs have succeeded if he was a Ghanaian???? The question is for me to ask and you to answer...
Well, would he??? Looking at the following factors.
1. Adoption before delivery would not have been a choice for his biological mum who would have probably left him to the mercy of life at the Osu Children Home. (Remember, Anas Arameyaw's investigation about the children home???) Well, your guess is as good as mine.
2. When he opted out of university, his parents would have dragged him from prayer house to prayer house, I bet he wouldn't have had time to figure out what he really wanted because, he will be too busy praying against ancestoral demons.
3.Steve Jobs, major breakthrough, was probably a partnership with his friend which led to the birth of the NeXT computers and subsequently, the MAC Os. Can the Ghanaian youth go into partnership with a friend without the fear of being cheated???
4.Steve Jobs talent grew to what it is today cos his bosses at Hp recognised his talent. Are Ghanaian bosses approachable with innovation and talent??
5. If Mr Jobs was a Ghanaian, as my friend said, he would have died years ago when e
he was first told he had cancer.... What do you think???? xoxoxo-Her Prettyness

THE VERY DARK PLACE....
Sometimes, we all go through things that leave us so depressed, we kind of check out on reality...
I recently went through an experience that left me in a very dark place. Before you judge me, mind you, I'm a strong, normally happy girl who lives life to the fullest. But this experience in question, left me not wanting to live.
I thought about slitting my wrist. I just wanted to end it all. Somehow, I still managed to plaster a smile on my face but my heart was torn apart.
I couldn't talk to anyone. I thought no one really cared. I was in a very dark, cold place. I felt worthless, unwanted and all the other negative emotions you can think of.
But how long can one stay in a lonely dark place? Somehow, I managed to pick my self up after weeks of crying to my twinny and bff..... I prepared myself to face life. I'm still a bit sceptical about getting involved in those things that got me there. Still afraid to let myself go cos the cold dark place is really a terrible place to be.
But somehow, I'm glad I can see the sun shine... I'm glad I can hear the birds chirping again.... And what can I say, this life is too beautiful to waste....Her Prettyness

Absolute Random Nonsense
So apparently my fro has grown into one gorgeous curly poof!! I'm totally loving it... Not missing the perm one bit. lol.
I know I've not blogged in a while. Honestly, I've not done anything in a while. It's been ages since I picked a phone to call my friends, let alone think of hanging out. It's like I lost my zeal for life. *heavy sigh*
Nothing excites me anymore. And I used to call myself hopelessly romantic. Who was I kidding??
Oh in other news, some dude told my auntie he wants to marry me but my auntie shouldn't tell me cos he is "studying" me.
MY REACTION: dude must be smoking something. What does he mean by studying me and why tell my auntie?? Is she supposed to me his mouthpiece??? Dude, faint hearts and in this case, lazy mouths never won fair ladies oh...
Ok, what else is happening in pretty Kay's life? Nothing.... I doubt I even have a life anymore.... But my consolation is, this too shall pass and when it does, we gonna party hard...

MY GOD IS THE MASTER OF BREAKTHROUGHS
My God is the master of breakthroughs so I shall not doubt, I shall endure cos He knows his plans for me and they are plans of good and not evil. His promises to me are yay and Amen...
He sees what I cannot see and knows what I do not know. He holds my future in his hand, so I will serve him. I do need the God of miracles on my side now, but I do need the miracle of knowing a God like Him more....
As a Facebook friend wrote,
